The Yowie is breeding!

Yes, 2 Yowies were spotted today at the You Yangs!  Well done to all the riders who participated today - it was hot out there and the Yowie is not a walk (ride) in the park!
Thanks to all the crew who made it happen:
-the GMBC Committee who do all the work behind the scenes
-the Friday setup crew led by Alan Flaherty
-the Saturday race crew led by Glenn Withers
-the 'A team' in registration
-the Rovers and GMBC volunteers who marshalled around the course
-the Timing team from Big Hill events


Yowie Opportunities!

It's not too late for you to join in the fun that is the You Yangs Yowie MTB race; 99, 66, 33 or 15km as a solo or grab 1-2 mates and enter the 99km Team category.   Tomorrow, Saturday 4th October, rego open from 6.30am at the Duck Ponds School, just inside the main entrance, off Branch Rd. Lara (check out the Rider Information here for all the rego & start times).

Vic Schools MTB Event

Well done to all the GMBC Young Guns who competed in the VSCC Western Region event at the You Yangs on Sunday.   Over 200 riders competed - check out the results here and lots of photos from Dave Goodall on our Flickr stream.


You Yangs Yowie

The Yowie is on its way - have you entered yet?   This classic event is on Saturday 4th October 2014, starting at the Duck Ponds School and taking you over to Stockyards and back, using as much singletrack as possible in the 33km loop.   You can take on the whole challenge (99km) or the 66km or 33km options  as a solo, or if you have 2 or 3 mates who want to get in the action, enter the 99km team event!   We also have the 15km mini-Yowie and  Dirt Squirts events in the Kurrajong.


INTERWINTER Series Results

The Series points have been tallied and are now available on the Results page, as well as the final Club Cup Results (Congratulations to Castlemaine Rocky Riders!).    Well done to the GMBC girls who showed everyone how it's done - taking all the podium positions and 4th place too!  GMBC Girls ROCK! (that's you Kirra, Aleisha, Lisa and Dallas!!


Geelong Dirt Girls

Geelong Dirt Girls is a monthly social mountain bike ride conducted by GMBC for any woman who wants to ride, meet new people, learn new skills and have fun on a Sunday morning. Every ability rider is welcome. After the ride we willhave well-earned coffee and cake at a local cafe.

Geelong Dirt Girls rides will provide a positive, non-intimidating environment for women to have fun mountain biking. We will aim to ride for a couple of hours depending on the ability of the group.
