GMBC Junior Scholarship Program

Aim: to encourage teenagers to continue pursuing the sporting activity of mountain biking with Geelong Mountain Biking Club.

            Available to three GMBC members each year between the ages of 13 and 18yrs; 2 Male, 1 Female. 


              Must have been a financial member of GMBC for prior 2 years and have participated regularly in GMBC club events.

2018 Rides - here's the plan!

The GMBC Committee has been hard at work planning our race calendar and other events for 2018.

Below is the plan as it currently stands  -  there are some events still to be confirmed and some may change, but if you are planning your MTB year there is plenty here to keep everyone busy!

We're halfway through Summer NFF and the series points have just been published on the Results page. - Check them out!

AND, if you are accruing points in SNFF you can be a part of the GMBC Club Aggregate award too.

Racing for chocolate (or non-chocolate options!) is back on Friday nights

What: Fun club racing for 50+mins.  10 race series plus Xmas BBQ race and Fun race with presentations at the end of the series.

Crazy6 clarification

There have been some questions surrounding the use of CX bikes in our upcoming VES Crazy6 race. GMBC follows the MTBA technical regulations and where there is ambiguity in these regulations we adhere to those regulations issues by the UCI.

UCI tech Regs states:

4.1.039 During MTB races no traditional road handlebars may be used.

Clips-on extensions are forbidden but traditional barends are authorized.

GMBC'ers kicking it at the Otway Odyssey

Congratulations to all our GMBC members who raced in the Otway Odyssey yesterday.  Well done to Jack Lamshed for taking out the 50km event and also to Riley Flaherty, James Goodall, David Lambourn and Chris Pearce for their podium finishes in their respective categories.
