GMBC Junior Scholarship 2018/2019

As discussed at the GMBC Presentations on the weekend the applications for the 2018/2019 Junior Scholarship is now open. Applications close on the 12th of October 2018, application form HERE.

Aim: to encourage teenagers to continue pursuing the sporting activity of mountain biking with Geelong Mountain Biking Club. 

Eligibility 
- Available to maximum of three GMBC members between the ages of 13 and 17yrs age is calculated as at 31st of December 2019. 
Must have been a financial member of GMBC for 2 years and have participated regularly in GMBC organized club level events. 
Maximum 2 consecutive years successful application. 

GMBC will provide 
- $500 per year – financial assistance for such items as travel and bike repairs/equipment, (provided in 2 x 6 monthly installments). 
- GMBC kit – jersey and bib nicks. 
- Free Entry to Gazebo Series, Summer NFF Series and Winter NFF Series. 

The successful applicant will 
- Need to participate in at Least 1 x Gazebo, 2 x WNFF, 2 x SNFF and additional 5 x GMBC Races of your choosing. (Gazebo, Club Champs, Crazy 6, Yowie, SNFF, WNFF) 
- Wear the GMBC branded kit at all Mountain bike Races entered, unless prior permission is given by the club. Sometimes it may not be practical, ie: wearing XC Gear at a Downhill event where long sleeves are required. 
- Wear GMBC Branded Gear on the Podium (ie: Jersey or GMBC Hoodie) 
- Provide their own bike and repair costs. 

This Scholarship Program does not preclude the applicant from applying for other sources of funding and financial assistance such as sports and recreation and health grants available from local and state level institutions.
