Club Awards Competition/Series Rules

 

 

All GMBC members are eligible to compete in the annual Club Awards competitions.  Members gain points for racing in Club level events and also for being part of the Race Crew at events.  The Club Awards are designed to reward participation in club events and contribution to club activities,  as well as actual race results.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rules for GMBC Awards 2017-2018

 

·      To be eligible for GMBC Racing awards you must be a financial member of GMBC at the time of racing/participating

·      There will be two types of Racing Awards:

o   Club champion - Male, Female, Young Gun (U18yrs) & Age groups

o   Club Aggregate Award (Male, Female, Young Gun {U18yrs} and Grades). This is based on points gained for race participation.

·      Grades for club races A, B, C, D, W(A), W(B)

·      Prizes/Trophies etc will be determined by the GMBC Committee

Note: the included events, points for each event and rules may be altered at any time as deemed necessary by the GMBC committee

 

The Club Champion award will be based on the rider's results in the annual 2 Stage Race held in the Stockyards.  There will be an Open Club Champion, Women’s Champion, Young Gun Champion (U18yrs) and other Age Group categories determined by participation on the day

o   Available age group categories:

§  30-39yrs, 40-49yrs, 50-59yrs, 60+yrs, U19, U17, U15

§  In categories where there are <3 participants, the GMBC committee will decide whether a championship will be awarded

·      To be eligible for the Club Champion award you must be a financial GMBC member and race/participate in at least 3 GMBC events in the 12 months prior to the 2 Stage Race (eg Social ride, NFF, Gazebo, Crazy6, Yowie, XC race, Volunteer at an event)

 

The Aggregate Award is based on participation as well as results

·      Each racer will be allocated 100 'participation' points for each eligible event that they compete in and also 'results' points as per the MTBA XC points system (eg 80 for 1st, 65 for 2nd etc.). 

·      The Aggregate award will be based on results from Summer & Winter NFF, Gazebo series and the 2 Stage Race (double points)

·      Club members will also gain points for helping out at events.

o   180 points will be allocated to helpers who don’t race in the event they volunteer for (eg. Marshalls, Race Directors)

o   Volunteers who also race will be allocated an extra 30 points to their race points for that event (eg. Setup, packup)

o   Maximum 'Volunteer' points is 210 points for NFF series and 180 points for Gazebo series and 2 Stage race

·      Up to 1/3 of your placings for a series are not counted towards the Aggregate Award result (eg.  2 can be dropped for a 10 race series, 2 for a 6 race series, 1 for a 3 race series). 

·      If a rider moves up or down a grade during the year points will be adjusted by the GMBC Committee or delegate as deemed necessary

Rules for NFF Series

·      6 grades for racing in NFF  - A, B, C, D & Women (WA) & (WB) grades

·      Series prizes will be awarded for all grades and for highest placed Young Gun (U18yrs)

·      Grading race at the start of the season sets your grade for your subsequent races (nb. refer below)

·      Riders are graded or moved between grades at the discretion of the GMBC Committee or delegates (eg Grading Committee)

·      Riders who place in the top 3 of B, C or D grade in 3 races in a series may be moved up a grade

·      Riders who place in the bottom 3 of A, B or C grade in 3 races in a series may be moved down a grade

·      Points will be awarded as per MTBA system for all grades (eg.  80, 65, 55, plus 100pts for ‘participation’ in all grades).  Riders who move between grades will have their points adjusted accordingly

·      Volunteer points will be allocated as per the Club Aggregate award rules and count towards the series results

·      All results are counted towards the series result

Rules for Gazebo Series:

·      Gazebo series points will be awarded on a similar basis to NFF, except that there is no grading race

·      Riders will 'self-grade' when entering, however the GMBC Committee or delegate has the right to move riders to another grade if deemed appropriate

·      No race results are dropped for the Gazebo series results
